Students will write (3) 2 page papers. Each paper will analyze a live performance that the student attended of one of the 4 plays listed above. A successful paper will examine the intentions of the playwright and the production and to what degree those intentions were realized. Papers should not include plot summary, but should focus on the choices that the actors, director, designers, and playwright made and how those choices supported (or did not support) the overall theme or idea of the play. Specific examples from the production should be included to back up your conclusions. Papers need not examine the production as a whole, but can focus on one or more specific elements in relation to the broader idea of the play.
